Rachel & Jason | The Club | Same Day Edit

Who doesn't love a great surprise?  Especially when you get to surprise an entire room of people, including the bride and groom.

When Rachel's sister-in-law, Stephanie came to us looking to do a Same Day Edit, we were thrilled! We first met Stephanie many years ago through her company (Engaged, A Wedding Library)/PWG Birmingham and instantly became friends.  She is a savvy business woman who loves her family dearly.

Rachel arranged an all-star team for her wedding.  You hear if often but sharing a wedding day with a family is an honor, no matter how many times you do it.

Take a look at this SDE highlights of their special day!  Thanks to Ginny Au with Bits and Bobs, Stephen DeVries Photography, Event Rentals Unlimited, Dreamcakes Bakery, Molly Stilley (bride's hair and makeup), Prince of Peace Catholic church, Happy Catering, The Club, Rare Transportation and HotHouse Design Studio.

"It’s a beginning and an ending, it’s glorious and sad, and it’s intimate and public.  In your lifetime there will be few milestones that will change the course of your future more than your wedding day. Main Street Productions understands and believes in the emotions of life. We bring these emotions to our art and look forward to presenting you a glimpse into your own past." - John Deaver, Main Street Productions

Liz and Nick | Autumn Ridge, a beautiful outdoor venue

Some families you just fall in love with immediately.  Actually most of our families, I fall in love with very quickly, thus the reason that we do too many weddings per year.  Regardless, when I met with Liz and her mom and talked about the upcoming wedding, I knew it was one that we wanted to be a part of.  There is just something about them.

And it couldn't have been a more perfect wedding day out at Autumn Ridge in Chelsea, AL.  Under the direction of Becky's Brides, the outdoor ceremony on top of Shelby County's most beautiful mountains was heaven-sent.  The reception was a great mixture of friends and family gathering in the main house and dancing the night away out in the tent on the property.

We had a great time (as always) working beside David Shirk with Unplugged Photography (his amazing images can be found here).  And don't worry, David, I have recovered from having to jump on the golf cart while you were driving off without me!

Julie and Court | The Sonnet House

Being a Jewish wedding, the Sonnet House's outside ceremony location was beautifully decorated with a Chuppah.  The bride's mom actually built and designed it using family heirlooms.  I think that part of the grandmother's wedding dress was even used!

J Ross with Hot House Design Studio did an exceptional job on the flowers for the wedding day. Take a look at these beauties!

Nationwide Coverage is fantastic.  Hands down.  They really know how to throw a party!

Bill with Happy Catering always makes guests "happy" with his delicious food that looks as good as it tastes! And he is a delight to work with.

Cakes by Audrey made two lovely cakes.  The groom's cake was a big hit with the football fans of the day.  There was this Florida Gator eating somebody.  It was funny, but you know I don't get football jokes.  Check out the photographer's website (Michael Ray White) to see some of the images of the cakes.  I like the one I took of Audrey taking a picture of her masterpiece!

Of course we missed Corey, but Jared, Candace and I sure had a lot of behind the scenes fun!

Tiffany + Craig: Palisades Church of Christ | Ted's Garage

Yesterday was our official 1st wedding of the year.  I say official because when you have a December 31st wedding, it really is like your last one of the year, but the first one too.

Everything about the day was absolutely beautiful for bride Tiffany and her beau Craig. She couldn't have asked for better weather and a more perfect day.  Greg Hawkins with Studio G was in his element to say the least.

We just fell in love with these two families.   I think when we get to film the rehearsal dinner it gives us a terrific insight into the family.  They were a very tight knit group with lots of babies everywhere!  I was in heaven.

But it just wasn't because there were babies around that the wedding weekend was so great, it really was a combination of everything.  I have to give credit to Beverly Andrews with Engaging Celebrations.  Her weddings truly are amazing!  I don't think people realize how much they are missing out on when they don't hire an experienced wedding planner.  From the vendor side, it couldn't be a better day and to see (and film) the relaxed expressions on the bride and her mother, then I know how much better the wedding day is for them too.

After a beautiful wedding ceremony at Palisades Church of Christ, the guests made their way over to one of our new favorite venues, Ted's Gargage.  Happy Catering had set up stations after stations of yummy food for the guests.  I loved how the band started the evening off with a dance for all of the fathers and daughters.  It really helped to get people to the dance floor and they stayed!

So the end of the night comes, the couple leaves in the bride's dad's restored Thunderbird.  Right after we run back in and get into a hiding spot.  No, we were not trying to stay at Ted's Garage all night, we were getting into place for a romantic proposal that was about to happen!!!  It was so exciting!  Take a look at the footage below.  The guitarist was the lead singer in the band, a groomsman, and the brother of the gal that is about to start planning her wedding!
