Having known each other most of their lives, Madison and Ben have a beautiful love story. It was so sweet to hear their parent's account of seeing the couple's love develop over time. What a joyous wedding day! Tissues ready?

It's here! My favorite time of year!!! Sure, I'm wishing that the Alabama weather would be a little less Summer-like, but I know it's coming.
For the past year or so, we have seen an increase in popularity of yard games at wedding receptions. And from someone who LOVES board games, I think this is the best idea for your outdoor wedding! This time of year will be perfect to make a few additions to your reception.
Pick your favorite or do them all!
1 - Cornhole. A must these days, don't you agree?
2 - Life-size scrabble. Yes please!
3 - Crouquet - classic.
4 - There's nothing like a competitive game of Jenga to spice up your cocktail hour.
5 - How cool is this GIANT Connect 4 game featured on Green Wedding Shoes?
Check out our Pinterest board for more ideas and some pins even have the directions on a DIY version of each game!
I think one of the best trends over the past few years has been on groom's cakes. A little while back, I did a post about showing school spirit in the creating of a groom's cake, but sometimes we see that it goes so much further than that. And it's fun! Plus look at the talent and creativity right here in the South!
Here are my favorite (and off-beat) groom's cakes, in no particular order...
1 - A drum set by Barb's Cakes at a recent B & A Warehouse wedding.
2. Are you a world traveler? Olexa's can make this fun cake for you! Thanks B & A Warehouse!
3. Passion for fishing? This cake by Magnificent Cakes is perfect for you! Shared from The Sonnet House.
4. Whiskey anyone? I can't locate the baker but Arden Photography at Windwood Equestrian was able to capture it before guests "drank" it!
5. Ok, this might be my favorite. I love Charlie!!! Thank you Ann Wade Photography for sharing. Cake made by The Frosted Affair!

We just love when others get to share in the excitement of our weddings. MODWEDDING was kind enough to feature Kaitlyn and Hunter’s April wedding on their blog. We’ve never seen the Donnelly House look more beautiful! Here is the post (and a thanks for including the video as well): http://www.modwedding.com/2016/08/alabama-wedding-chic-southern-style
In case you missed the video, you should watch it now. Chris did a great job!
And did you see Alisha Crossley’s photos? Stunning. Here are a few examples.
