Aldridge Gardens | Birmingham Wedding Venue

It's #WeddingWednesday today so we felt it was the perfect day to share a video we did recently for Aldridge Gardens in Hoover, AL.  We love working there; not only is it beautiful, but the people who work there are awesome!  If you are thinking about having your wedding at Aldridge Gardens, take a look at this clip from several of our weddings over the past year.  I KNOW you will fall in love too!

Business Interiors | DIRTT technology | Corporate Video

I guess I try to separate out our corporate job vs the weddings, but sometimes it is just easier to combine.  It's not like you didn't know that video speaks across all industries and events.

This video was produced for the sales team needing a visual reference to show during a sale presentation.  They needed it to be long and to show how amazing their product is.  Just like with our wedding videos, it takes the "creative collaboration" to produce a piece like this.

If your business needs a simple "about us" video or something more complex, give us a call - we would love to help!

Bloody Sunday | 50th Anniversary | Selma, AL

This weekend is a pretty historic anniversary for not only the South, but the rest of the country.  It represents the 50th anniversary of when 600 protestors started to march from Selma to Montgomery, AL for civil rights. They were brutally attacked on the Edmund Pettus Bridge.  Less than 5 months later, President Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

A few months ago, John and Sam Armstrong went to Selma to gather footage of the town, the culture and the infamous bridge. They were basically scouting for a location for filming a documentary for another company.  Well this piece led to a pretty big job going on right now in Birmingham/Selma. And a big thanks to the new guy at Main Street Productions, Bill Wilson, everything has been perfect!

We have a two day long live streaming of Civil Rights presentations going on at the Birmingham Sheraton Hotel. To watch the live streaming (ending Saturday night), click here.  And then on Sunday we travel to Selma to document the march for civil rights. Apparently everyone from Lady Gaga to former President Bush and current President Obama will be in attendance.  Pretty cool for our little company.

To watch the quick piece the guys put together when scouting locations, see below. It is nothing fancy, but it is not supposed to be.

John Deaver Films | Safe Step Walk-in Tub Co. | Sophia Joblonski | Orland Park, IL

Imagine being 14 years old and not able to bathe yourself without your mom's help?  Sophia has cerebral palsy but doesn't let that stop her from living her life as a normal teenager.  She is a rockstar!

John Deaver Films was honored to be able to fly to Chicago to document when Safe Step Walk-in Tub Co gave Sophia a brand new speciality tub that has greatly helped her independence.  To read more about her story, click here.

We enjoy creating these corporate videos. As a videographer, it is really cool to be able to tell this family's story as their lives are changing for the better.

John Deaver Films | Safe-Step Tub Co. | Anna Grace - Helena, AL

A couple of weeks ago we received a call from someone needing to do a short video promoting a donation of a super nice speciality tub from Safe Step Walk-In Tub Co. to a young girl that really needed it.

I'm happy to say that because of it, not only did Anna Grace get a tub that she so desperately needed, but I have now established a great relationship with the PR guy (thus getting to do more of these corporate video promos!) This is the kind of thing that I really want to do more of.

How can you not fall in love with Anna Grace?  Love this company and their Safe Step Cares program! To read more about Anna Grace's story, click here

The Launch of John Deaver Films | a division of Main Street Productions

We here at Main Street Productions LOVE weddings.  It is what we have made a living on for many years now.  We had a few corporate clients through the years, but it was never our main focus.

When it came time for John's mid-life crisis, not only did he buy his infamous Banana Republic purple shirt and green glasses, but he also really wanted to put his name on something.  We argued for a few years about a complete renaming and re-branding of MSP, but in the end decided to just have him branch off and tell a different kind of story.

Of course he is NOT leaving MSP and is very much a part of day to day operations, but he is pursuing other types of jobs under John Deaver Films

I do plan on posting his work here on this blog as well as his blog on JDF so check back often! Check out his website on johndeaverfilms.com.
