Reason No. 587 to hire a wedding filmmaker

I talk to a lot of brides; sometimes they hire us, sometimes they don't.  And when they don't, that is ok.  I just want them to hire a some professional for their wedding.  Most of the time, brides will say something about wanting to have their wedding ceremony preserved for the future. I think that is easy for couples to comprehend that they want.  But often times, what they don't understand (until after the wedding) is all of the other moments that happen throughout the day. That is why we only provide full day coverage.

For instance, at Ginna and Ty's wedding reception, the father of the bride gets on stage with the band, grabs the microphone and proceeds to serenade his bride of over 25 years.  So there you have it - the bride, the father of the bride and now the mom of the bride (who happens to be fighting cancer) are all on the stage.  Below you will just have a 15 sec glimpse of such a priceless moment captured on video.  So yes, we will film your ceremony, but also so much more.  Do you see those tears coming down mom's face?  #Photosdontdoitjustice

Jordan and John | Bride's Family Home

After bonding over the love of golf, Jordan and John were married this summer at Sylacauga, Alabama at the First Baptist Church with the reception held at the bride's parents' house. Their wedding day was filled with emotion, excitement and cute golfing-related details!  Thanks to John and Amanda for doing such a great job on this video!

Julia and Harrison | Birmingham Country Club

What do you do when you arrive to your wedding reception and there's no power.  Like none.  Well if you are Julia and Harrison's friends and family, you party like nothing is wrong.  AG Lighting had some battery powered lights for the dance floor, we had our video lights and thankfully the band was able to run a LONG extension cord. Sure it was hot.  But that didn't stop the fun!

Lindsé and Andy | Gabrella Manor

Sometimes weddings (and wedding films) take on different meanings as life happens.  You start off planning the wedding of your dreams.  You pick fabulous vendors, the most beautiful venue and everything is perfect. Two weeks before the wedding, your groom's mom gets diagnosed with cancer. The wedding turns into a celebration of life to give the family the strength to battle what's ahead. It's a fun party!  Everyone has a great time!  You go skipping off on your honeymoon with your handsome groom and come back with a little "surprise." Just another reminder what is truly most important in this world.  Congratulations Lindsé and Andy - on the wedding, the marriage, the baby on the way and for wonderful test results that came back from Andy's mom! Enjoy your wedding film!

A Birmingham Multi-Cultural Wedding | Ross Bridge

If you know me at all, you know I love Ross Bridge.  I love it for weddings, for playtime by the pool, even for the breakfast brunch!  Add to that a very sweet bride and her loving parents and it was an event I did not want to miss.

It was one of those meetings where I fell in love. I try not to let this happen, but it does.  I was so happy that they chose us for the wedding because that meant I could spend more time with them!  Sure, Saman is beautiful, very intelligent and so wonderful to be around.  Did you know that she actually had marriage proposals from around the world!!!!  But she chose to marry for love, a MIT professor (or was it Harvard???  Doesn't matter, he's smart, cute, nice and compliments her so well) who swept her off her feet.

Just watch the video to see his reaction to seeing her for the 1st look!

Juli and Jacob | Backyard Alabama wedding

When I first spoke with Juli (and Jacob) I was amazed at how they were functioning so well in their life.  They both had full time jobs while planning a wedding and building their dream home.  This dream home was to be the wedding site.  But they were calm.  They had been dating for years and they were ready to finally be married.  They had pride for their house and were excited to share it with friends and family who were to gather to celebrate the couple exchanging their wedding vows.

When we arrive on site, we can see why this site was the only choice for the wedding.  It was gorgeous!  The view was incredible!  And the house was beautiful!  The only thing more beautiful was the bride.  I loved how their friends, who were basically family, all came together to make the day perfect.  Even when the guitarist blew a circuit during the 1st dance and all of the lighting went dark, it was still perfect, because it allowed for an impromptu sing-a-long from the entire crowd.  It was a good lesson that at the end of the day, no matter what happens, you still get to marry the person of your dreams. - Angela Deaver
